Last few weeks have been pretty hectic around the Heathen's Racing camp. First went down to Lufkin, Texas in a surprise(due to mother natures rain here last month) road trip to the IHRA Summit Pro-Am. Drove 3 1/2 hrs to a 10.90 1/4 mile event with a motor that hadn't made a 1/4 mile pass and no idea what to set a throttle stop up to make it go 10.90s and a 60% chance of storms down there....brilliance at it again!

After saturdays race got rained out down there they decided if there was no rain sunday(this was literally 4 weeks ago btw) they would race both saturday and sundays event simultaiously and only 1 time trial. So I had one shot at getting the car down the 1/4mile, and shoot for a 10.90 setup. Well I missed the timer settings and slowed it down to only a 10.71. Lose first round of saturdays race, but get down to 7 cars before it starts raining in sundays event....which is being postponed till memorial day weekend at BATON ROUGE 009 9 1/2 hr drive for me....oh well I have been crazy enough in 2010 why not?

Proceeded to Ennis for the Lucas Oil NHRA divisional the next weekend for some more pro tree 10.90 racing. Not to bad there got down to 14 cars before losing a close race to a good buddy Robbie Lopez. First time I actually went some rounds in my 6 years of racing the camaro at an NHRA event and it set me up enough to chase the NHRA Super Street points this season.

Hit a string of bad luck though until this past saturday. I broke a rocker, pushrod and lifter at the 2nd Northstar points race and didnt have the parts to fix it at the track so I lost my points there. Then missed the next points race at NSD during the Ennis race so I was falling behind quick. Last friday night I went to Dallas Raceway and on the first time trial pass I break another rocker. Slapped on my brand new Stainless steel ones(had aluminum ones that we had to shave to fit the springs, thats why they were breaking) and got one hit before eliminations. Made it 3 rounds in both classes before losing my mind and forgetting how to race! Saturday at Northstar wasn't too bad. Runner-up in No electronics and semi in 2nd chance super pro(after losing first round to a .004 package to my .014 package).

Was heading to Tulsa this weekend for the 2nd stop on the NHRA LODRS tour but it was postponed due to the tornados and chance of rain all week and weekend. Hopefully going to Super Chevy show next weekend, then off to my 5 day trip to Baton Rouge 098

We were actually glad Tulsa was cancelled because we were going to back out and not go anyway. The forecast led us to believe that it would be a wasted trip and there is not enough paved parking there to keep our rig out of the mud.

Are you guys going to be in Baton Rouge? I am having second thoughts as of today with Northstars $10,000 to win per day race next weekend. Plus I broke the front cover on the converter last sunday in ennis, thought it was transmission line but changed all that got it back together and fired last night...still leaked transmission fluid like crazy. Took the converter to PTC this morning and should have it back and in the car by the end of the night. I am just not very excited about driving 9 1/2 hrs with a car that keeps breaking every other weekend.

Hope to be at NSD tomorrow and Super Cheyv on sunday. I guess come thursday morning I will decide if I am driving north to denton or South to Baton Rouge.

If nothing else will I see you in Houston in a couple weeks Carl?

My father is sitting on the fence about Baton Rouge. I will not be there due to other commitments. I have not discussed Houston with him; but, I would be surprised if he does not go.

I sucked it up pretty good at super chevy. Didn't get a win light. .005 to dennis cameron jrs .024 and my car falls off 2 and he gets there .006. Buy-back and go -.002 red to leon philpot's .000 light. I actually lost to the winner and runner-up as Leon won the event and Dennis Cameron R/U.

I decided to stay in town this weekend instead of Baton Rouge. Went to Redline friday and won Top and got to 5 cars in mod. Then went to Northstar saturday and today. Lost 3rd round in super pro yesterday and got too 9 cars in no/e. Then today lost 4th round no/e and got too 7 cars in the $5,000 to win super pro, I go .010 to the other guys .040(hes running a dragster) I dialed a 7.09 as it goes 7.10 the pass before(on the stop) and I kill 4mph and go 7.082. Took .038 stripe which was a $500 mistake 013 013 013 013 013 013

Trying to decide if I want to go to Pine Valley Raceway next saturday for a big money deal then to motorplex on sunday for their bracket race. 3rd in points right now at plex in no/e 1/4 mile so we'll see what everything looks like come friday.
