Well, as you can imagine I have been going crazy not having a car of my own to work on so today we went and looked at this 4 door 62 Chevy II. I know, I know "I's a 4 door " But I am not looking to build a "race car" this time. I am looking at more of a cruiser/ rat rod kind of thing. So here is what we are starting with. After the pics I will lay out the plan as of today (you know how plans change as you go....lol)
THE PLAN: Well of course replace the floor pans and minni tub with a street friendly (more stock type) 4 link setup with a decent rearend (probably an 8.8 out of a fox body or somthing along those lines). Of course upgrade the rear breaks to disk and 5 lug. The front end will get a new bolt in subframe with 5 lug and disk breaks. Then to top off all that new fangle suspention a decent set of 17X11's in the rear and 17X9's in the front if at all possable. The interior will get some nice comfy buckets up front with a center consol and floor shifter. The back will get the rear seat refoamed and covered to match what ever the fronts are. Then new carpet front to back, new gauges, all new wiring throughout the entire car and a decent little system for some tunes while out cruising . As for motorvation I am leaning twords a 6 liter LS motor with a few goodies and well, if you know me, a little sneeze of giggle gas just for good measure still debating on the overdrive or a good old reliable TH350. But I have lots of time before I need to worry about that. I am sure the plan will change between now and then anyway, it usually does. _________________

The vega has just been sitting. We have been concentrating our efforts on the house, which is just about finished. How is the new camaro coming? have you taken it out yet? _________________

LOL, ya, but it looks worse than it is, and it is nice having a good friend that is a welder. The front and rear suspentions are just simple bolt on swaps the floor pan comes as 1 peice so that is easy, the seats I can buy the covers new all day long I just need a shop to refoam them for me. The LS swap is a bolt in deal with this car so it will be a fairly easy project, it will just take some money. That is the only thing that will make it take some time. But again I am in no real big hurry. _________________
